Features and Benefits:
- Filament Wound Construction: Micron fiberglass filters embody the latest in fiberglass winding technology. Micron fiberglass vessels consist of an inner shell of fiberglass reinforced polyester resin wound over with fiberglass filament. Waterco's digitally controlled filament winding machine faultlessly winds continuous strands of high quality fiberglass filament under controlled tension filament to create a seamless one-piece vessel with refined consistency and superior quality. There are no weld, seams, or special tank linings that can corrode over time.
- Micron "Fish Tail" Laterals - means better filtration : Conventional laterals have "dead areas" existing between the laterals, which compromises water flow through the filter bed - basically not utilizing much of the media, and causing increased velocity to the sparse lateral locations. The unique "fish tail" lateral configuration eliminates this problem by providing effective greater coverage of the filter bed. lower velocities for better filtration and a more balanced water flow.
- Better backwashing, tooThe fish-tail underdrain design also improves backwashing - by more easily "liquifying" the media bed. This means faster and more complete removal of dirt while also using less water.
Backwash time is significantly reduced, leading up to a 30% savings of backwash water - (even more when used in onjuntion with Multi-cyclone first astage filteration!)
- Energy Savings The hydraulic efficiency of the fish-tail design saves energy, too! By reducing the time pumps have to run to backwash, and heaters have to run heating up the fill water which replaces the water backwashed down the drain.
- Simple Maintenance: The effectiveness and efficiency of the filter is impaired by excessive build-up of debris, clogging the media, which will result in pressure build up and poor circulation. Cleaning the filter simply requires turning the filter's Multiport lever from the "filter" position to the "backwash" position, which reverses the flow of water in the filter, flushing the filter bed.
- Fiberglass and polyester resin internal tanks, reinforced with a fiberglass filament wound outer shell result in a 16% stronger - 58 psi rating - vs. competitors at 50 psi
- Reinforced side-wall where bulkhead fittings are located
- Easier ServiceOver-sized 8" and 12" diameter top access ports on all models - some competitor models are only 6"
- Superior reinforced neck ring
- Simple "drop-and 'lock" or victaulic flange lids
- All models NSF listed
- Larger 3" bulkhead fittings on larger flow rate models available
